Civil Mechanical Engineering Manager

One of the nation’s largest and most environmentally sound municipalities has an opportunity for the Manager of the entire Civil/Mechanical Engineering Unit that consists of 3 Hydroelectric Projects with total capacity of over 1,850 MW (1050 MW, 700 MW and 104 MW ). This professional will have a strong technical, engineering and design background in power generation and/or hydroelectric.  The scope of projects are challenging and include everything from dam spill gate refurbishments to transmission line replacements to working on gigantic internal components at their hydro plants. This position reports to the power production director and oversees a 20 person group with four direct reports.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • PE license
  • Ten years of professional engineering experience or experience managing multi-disciplined work groups at an electric utility, large pumping station, refinery or similar industry.
  • Five years supervising engineering employees or lead project management experience.
  • Strong leadership skills including planning, organizing, problem-solving and program implementation.
